During the 1960's Hipage handled the first documented "intermodal" container to move through the United States to the United Kingdom. A single document governed the passage and, each step of the way, the progress of the container was monitored.
In 2004, The Hipage Company Inc. was C-TPAT validated.

Hitch, one of Norfolk's foremost citizens of the Maritime industry. | | 1930's | James G. Page becomes partner. | | 1943 | Hipage Co. becomes incorporated. | | 1950's | Hipage handles everything from break bulk cargo to the special delivery of a pregnant elephant or power transformer as large as a house. | | 1960's | Marvin D. Rhodes & Robert R. Ballard transform Hipage into largest broker/forwarder in Hampton Roads, opening branch offices along the east coast. | | | Hipage handled the first documented container to move from the U.S. to England. | | 1970's | Hipage expands Southeast coverage to include: Richmond, VA; Charlotte, NC; Norfolk Airport, Charleston, SC; Greensboro, NC; Wilmington, NC; Savannah, GA. | | | Hipage opens an office in the Mid West, Milwaukee Wisconsin. | | 1980's | Hipage opens in Atlanta, GA and Raleigh, NC. | | 1987 | Hipage begins full automation with US Customs. | | 1995 | General Purpose Foreign Trade Zone Operator in Atlanta, GA, USA. | | 2003 | Launched Foreign Trade Zone in Peachtree City GA. | | | Hipage Co. becomes C-TPAT Certified. | | 2004 | Hipage Co. receives C-TPAT validation. | | 2007 | Hipage Co. makes the Global Logistics & Supply Chain Strategies list of 100 Great Supply Chain Partners. | | 2008 | Hipage Co. acquires W.M.
